Airport container collections
Collections for airport environments
Airports can produce significant volumes of 10c drink containers across terminals, lounges, tenancies and staff areas. We work with the airport or site team to plan approved internal movement, secure access and a suitable collection point.
What an airport site receives
Commercial facts with access built in
Plan eligible-container movement through authorised teams, controlled areas and an approved collection point.
Full 10c refund
Airport businesses with an ABN or ACN, and registered charities, receive the full 10c for every eligible container.
Free bins and pickup
We recommend bins for the approved zones. Agreed ongoing bins and pickup are free for approved commercial partners.
Message at around 90%
Your authorised contact messages us when bins are around 90% full. A regular service is only discussed after enough collection history.
Security comes first
Share landside or airside details, loading windows, inductions and authorised contacts so access can be confirmed.
A specialised environment
Work within airport permissions from the start
An airport collection may involve several organisations and controlled areas. We never assume unrestricted terminal or airside access.
Airport operations
Sets the local rules for access, security, service routes and operating windows.
Tenants and lounges
Manage containers within their approved spaces and staff routines.
Cleaning and facilities teams
May consolidate material through existing back-of-house routes.
Security and access teams
Confirm inductions, escorts, vehicle requirements and collection permissions.
Across the airport
Different zones need different handling
Passenger-facing and operational areas do not share the same access conditions. Define each source before planning how it reaches the collection point.
Terminal concessions
Food and beverage tenancies can separate containers within their approved work areas.
Lounges
Service teams may capture drink containers during clearing and close-down.
Staff facilities
Break rooms and administration areas can provide a controlled workplace stream.
Domestic-terminal areas
A participating domestic-terminal account may consolidate containers under its own approved arrangements.
How it can work
Plan the route before the pickup
The site controls how containers move through the airport. We agree where our collection can begin and what access is required.
-
Define the participating zone
Name the terminal, tenancy, lounge or staff area in scope.
-
Confirm internal responsibility
Assign the approved team that separates and moves the containers.
-
Consolidate within site rules
Use only authorised service routes and secure storage areas.
-
Approve collection access
Confirm the pickup point, operating window, induction and escort needs.
Real-world result
A real airport collection result
In under eight months of recorded collections, one airport domestic-terminal account returned 48,582 eligible drink containers, representing $4,858.20 in recorded refunds.
Recorded period: 1 January 2026 to 30 August 2026
Actual recorded returns for one participating account during the stated period. Collection dates may include containers accumulated earlier. Results vary with eligible container volume, site activity and collection arrangements; these examples are not sector averages or forecasts.
Collection quality
Keep the stream suitable before it reaches storage
The participating airport account remains responsible for its source areas and for keeping other materials out.
Put these in
Empty, eligible cans, plastic and glass drink bottles, and cartons carrying the Queensland 10c refund mark.
Check the detailed eligibility guide
Keep these out
Food, coffee cups, general waste, aviation or maintenance materials, chemicals, broken glass and non-eligible packaging.
Use zone-specific signs
Match the instruction to passenger, tenant, lounge or staff use.
Check public-area material
Remove obvious rubbish before containers enter secure consolidation.
Protect secure routes
Do not create informal movements between restricted and public zones.
Report access changes
Tell us when security, loading or operating arrangements change.
Airport setup
Confirm the service for the participating account
Collection timing, bins, reporting and refunds are agreed with the authorised airport or site contact. Capability at one terminal or precinct does not create access elsewhere.
Account scope
Record the participating organisation and exact airport locations included.
Security
Confirm inductions, escorts, permits and access windows before service begins.
Refunds
Agree how recorded refund value is directed for the participating account.
Reporting
Discuss the information needed and the level the arrangement can support.

Talk to us about your airport site
Tell us the exact location, the participating organisation and the site's access requirements. Our team can then discuss a suitable next step without making assumptions about secure access.
