Facilities management collections

One collection partner for managed sites

We help facilities teams coordinate Containers for Change collections around clients, tenants, cleaners and loading access. You can use a consistent approach while keeping each site's storage and access details clear.

What facilities teams receive

Commercial collection with clear site roles

Coordinate tenants, cleaners, waste providers and onsite contacts without losing each property's practical requirements.

Full 10c refund

Qualifying clients with an ABN or ACN, and registered charities, receive the full 10c for every eligible container.

Free bins and pickup

We recommend bins for each approved property. Agreed ongoing bins and pickup are free for approved partners.

Message at around 90%

The site contact messages us when bins are around 90% full. Regular servicing is considered later from property-level collection data.

Keep each site workable

Share local contacts, contractor roles, storage, access and reporting needs for every participating property.

Managed-site coordination

Connect the people who already run the property

Facilities managers often sit between the client, occupants and service providers. A clear collection routine prevents the container stream from falling between contracts.

Client

Approves the purpose, participating property and any required records.

Facilities team

Coordinates the site setup, changes and service questions.

Cleaners and waste providers

Need their responsibilities confirmed rather than assumed.

Building and security teams

Control storage, loading docks, keys, inductions and access windows.

Site by site

Use the same questions, not the same answer

An office tower, shopping centre and health facility need different collection routines. A repeatable setup process can still make the work easier.

Workplaces

Kitchens, meeting rooms, staff events and cleaner handovers.

Shared properties

Tenants, common areas, waste rooms and loading-dock coordination.

Public facilities

Higher contamination risk and a stronger need for supervised points.

Controlled sites

Local safety, security or regulated-waste boundaries that take priority.

How it can work

A repeatable setup with local site details

Start with a clear site register and confirm each location before it joins the collection arrangement.

  1. Confirm client and site authority

Identify who can approve the service and the refund purpose.

  2. Map the local routine

Record source areas, internal responsibilities, storage and current providers.

  3. Sign off access

Confirm loading, security, induction and onsite contact details.

  4. Keep changes current

Update the collection team when sites, contractors or access systems change.

Consistent message

Keep the core rule simple across sites

The definition of an eligible drink container can stay consistent while placement, checking and access remain local.

Examples of ineligible containers, including plain milk bottles, cask wine, coffee cups and large juice containers.

Keep these out

Food, general waste, non-eligible packaging and any site-specific operational, clinical, hazardous or regulated material.

One core guide

Give cleaners and occupants the same basic eligibility message.

Local site note

Add the exact point, storage, contact and exclusions for each property.

Clear issue owner

Send contamination, access or storage problems to the person able to fix them.

Replace old instructions

Update signs and site details when layouts or providers change.

Your managed-site setup

Coordinate the service without overcomplicating it

We'll discuss the client structure, proposed sites, local contacts, refunds and useful reporting. Multi-site availability and detail are confirmed through the actual arrangement.

Site register

Keep participating locations, contacts and collection points current.

Contract roles

Check cleaner, waste, security and building-management responsibilities.

Refunds

Record how refund value is directed for the participating account.

Reporting

Discuss whether information needs to be viewed by client, account or site.

Facilities Management FAQs

Questions about collections for managed sites

Straight answers to common questions about setting up collections at a site like yours.

What do approved commercial collection partners receive?
Businesses with an ABN or ACN, and registered charities, receive the full 10c for every eligible container. Approved partners also receive their agreed ongoing bins and commercial pickup free of charge. Other organisations can contact the team to discuss their situation.
How do we start, and who chooses the bins?
Use the commercial collection enquiry and share your organisation, site, volume, storage, access and refund preference. Sandgate Bottle & Can Exchange recommends the bin setup. The account, Member Number, payment or donation pathway is confirmed during onboarding, and bin numbers or sizes can be reviewed as real volumes become known.
When will our containers be collected?
When you first start, message the team when the bins are around 90% full and we will organise the collection. Once enough collection history shows the site's normal volume and fill rate, regular servicing can be discussed if it would suit the site.
What if we already have a stockpile of eligible containers?
Mention it in the enquiry. The team will review the amount, storage and access, then explain the most practical way to handle the existing stockpile and the ongoing setup.
Can one arrangement cover several managed sites?
A multi-site approach can be discussed, but each location still needs suitable sources, storage, an onsite contact and workable collection access.
Who moves containers inside each building?
The client and facilities team should assign the role through the relevant site or service arrangements. It may involve cleaners, tenants or another authorised team.
Does this replace the waste contractor?
Not automatically. The eligible-container service should be coordinated with existing cleaning and waste contracts.
Can all sites use the same signs?
A consistent core message is useful, but each property should add its own collection-point, storage and contact details.
Can reporting be grouped by client or site?
Grouping can be discussed. Available detail depends on how participating accounts and collection streams are set up.
Does the result represent a whole property portfolio?
No. It is the recorded result for one facilities-management account during the stated period and should not be read as a portfolio-wide result.
